CA Sup. Court Upholds Voter Ban on Gay Marriage, But Recognizess Prior Marriages

The California Supreme Court upheld, Proposition 8, a voter ban on same-sex marriage, but allowed 18,000 of these marriages approved before the prohibition took place to be legally recognized. Gay rights advocates intend to place another referendum on the ballot.
