Anti-Semitism Report Shows Worldwide Spike After Small '08 Decline; French Torture Murder Trial Begins


Anti-Semitic violence around the world declined slightly in 2008 despite increases in the United States, Canada and Germany. However, it is estimated that the Gaza War triggered a significant spike of incidents internationally during January 2009 according to the report

Anti-Semitism in the UK 2008: Community Service Trust

In Paris the trial of twenty-seven people involved in the 2006 kidnapping, torture and murder of Ilan Halimi, a 23 year old French Jew, commenced this week. As the victim was confined and tortured by acid, burning, binding and stabbing over a 24 day period, his captor barraged his family with anti-Semitic phone diatribes.
